Wildness Lost

The sequence is not important. The interaction with wildlife is key. One campsite had an abundance of mosquitoes, another yellow jackets, all had stealthy squirrels. Their presence indicated an imbalance, of wildlife losing it’s wildness. The squirrels seemed to be trained to find their way into cars. As much as I love to observe nature, being in a natural setting with creatures who have learned to live off the scraps of humans steals the experience of wildness. I do my best to avoid contact, and to leave no trace, not even a crumb.
