Historic sites make an honorable effort to find reliable documentation. When learning history as a child I found it so boring. It all seemed to be a list of names and dates and events. I had no concept of the stories involved, the result of decisions of individuals. What I want to know, is what made my ancestor smile in the morning? What was their favorite meal? Did they have a garden that they nurtured? What helped them through the hard times?
